From October 2007, the Enduring Power of Attorney (EPA) will be replaced
by Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) as a result of the Mental Capacity
Act 2005.
Existing arrangements will be allowed to continue,
but from that date anyone wanting to entrust control of their money, property,
health and welfare into the hands of a family member or friend will have
to follow a new procedure.
On the right are some questions that we have answered regarding this change.

What is an EPA?

What would happen if there wasn't
an EPA?

What is an LPA?

So, what's the difference?

What will happen to EPAs after October
2007?

What do we recommend?
